Green Bean Casserole
A classic side for the holidays! No matter what the holiday you are celebrating... the meal is not complete without Green Bean Casserole.
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients
~2 cups Condensed Soup
- made with mushroom, yellow onion, shallot and garlic; using vegetable stock.
1 teaspoon Pointershire Sauce (worcestershire sauce)
4 cups fresh green beans, blanched
2 cups French's® French Fried Onions, divided
Bourbon Barrel Foods® Smoked Salt and Pepper, to taste
Directions
Heat the oven to 350°F.
Cut the green beans into bite size pieces and blanch in salted water for ~3 minutes. Drain and rinse, then put into a large mixing bowl.
Fold in the condensed soup, Pointershire Sauce and 1 cup fried onions, together with the green beans until all the ingredients are combined. Season with salt and pepper and pour into and pour into a 9 inch glass bread loaf pan.
Bake for 25 minutes or until hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup of fried onions.
Bake for another 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.
Let green beans rest a few minutes before serving to help the flavors meld and the casserole settle.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of condensed soup to reach desired consistency.
- Store leftovers in an oven safe dish for easy reheating.
- 12/28/25 - Baked in a 9 inch glass bread loaf pan. Worked great for this amount. Can be backed in another pan such as a 9 x 9 baking pan if doubling the recipe.
