Fancy Velveeta® Sauce
This is a quick creamy cheese sauce that works as a simple topping for broccoli or even for the Chicken Beer Cheese Detroit Style Pizza.
Makes 1/2 cup
Ingredients
4 oz Velveeta® Original Cheese
2 oz La Gruyère® AOP
2 tablespoons Paulaner® Hefe-Weizen
1/4 teaspoon Pointershire Sauce (worcestershire sauce)
1/2 teaspoon French's® Classic Yellow Mustard
1/8 teaspoon RealSalt® Garlic Salt
1/8 teaspoon RealSalt® Seasoning Salt
1/8 teaspoon Bourbon Barrel Foods® Smoked Paprika
few dashes of Frank’s® Original Hot Sauce, to taste
Directions
In a small sauce pan on low temperature add the velveeta cheese and the Gruyere cheese and gently melt. Do not let it boil or brown, use only low temperature and stir frequently. When mostly melted add the Pointershire Sauce, mustard and beer. Mix until well combined, heated and the cheese has melted. Add the dry seasonings and mix to incorporate. Add a few dashes of the hot sauce to taste. Add beer a little at a time until desired consistency and taste for seasoning. Keep warm over low temperature until ready for serving.
Notes
- I use one mini block of the Velveeta® Fresh Packs, that come in 5 individually wrapped ~4oz packs.
- Used as a topping on the Chicken Detroit Style Pizza.
