Basic Deviled Eggs
This is the basic recipe for the classic deviled egg. From this point forward, skies the limit on what you can do with them. Get creative and have fun.
Makes 12 halves
Ingredients
6 large eggs
1/4 cup Hellmann’s® Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Gray Poupon® Dijon Mustard
1 tablespoon pickle juice
Bourbon Barrel Foods® Smoked Salt and Pepper, to taste
garnish
Bourbon Barrel Foods® Smoked Paprika
Directions
prepare the eggs
We use a Dash® Rapid Egg Cooker. Place 7 eggs in the egg cooker (The 7th egg is for The Pointers). When the eggs are finished, let cool and peel, then cut in half, lengthwise.
make the filling
Remove the yolks and place them in a large bowl. Add mayonnaise and mustard, then mash with a fork until smooth. Add the pickle juice, salt and pepper. Adjust any ingredients to taste.
assemble the eggs
Add a big spoonful of filling back into each egg white and garnish with paprika.
Notes
- This is just a basic recipe… there are too many variations and things you can add to the filling to make them unique to list here. Do a search or just use your imagination.
